Posts with sample analysis

The headings indicate 1 particular representation focus, but age and gender (+ usually sexuality) are omnipresent... Initially many of these will be older, UK-based egs, but the style of analysis is universally applicable. Several clips will have been taken down from YT; if they're not Teams-accessible let me know.

SEXUALITY: an historical overview (UK focus) which helps still add context to any representations which go beyond heteronormativity. There is also a sample analysis of a TORCHWOOD clip.

SOCIAL CLASS: TESS. Tess of the D'Urbevilles. Great eg of use of framing, angles within shot reverse shot sequence - and binary opposition through accent, appearance, body language...

SOCIAL CLASS: DOWNTON ABBEY. I'm sure I've typed notes on this somewhere too (all my blogging is a work in progress).

GENDER, AGE: AGENTS OF SHIELD (wood cabin, chess)

AGENTS OF SHIELD: cafe meeting. I've shared resources on Teams. linked here as i might update post. Same for this Dr Who example (clip survives); for these, vid embed taken down so noting for myself: 2012 sexuality eg; Merlin too; Casualty

PRIMEVAL: need to find the clip again. Past UK exam essay eg included: assessment criteria were similar overall, but simpler than current CIAE.

GENDER: AGENT CARTER no analysis yet, but useful eg.

DISABILITY, GENDER: Coming Down From the Mountain.
